TROON, (SCOTLAND), July 18: Gaurav Ghei of India said today that he enjoyed his British Open experience and would be a better player for it.

Ghei shot a second round 81 for a 20-over par 162 total and missed the cut. In the first round Ghei had a nightmare triple bogey at the final hole to finish the first round of the British Open on 10-over-par 81.

``It just was not not there for me today,'' said Ghei, the first Indian to play in the British Open. ``I three putted the 10th and after that things went wrong. I was not hitting the ball well but I tried to stick in there.

John Kernohan of the United States, an Omega Tour regular who was the top finisher in the qualification competition, followed his opening 76 with a one-under-par 70 and made the final two days.

Ghei shot par golf until the seventh when took a bogey. Another bogey at the 423 yard ninth saw him reach the turn in two over and he continued his poor run with bogeys at the 10th, 12, 13th and 15th. With his swing out of sync, he had a double bogey at the 16th and made bogey at the final two holes for a disappointing back nine of eight over 43.
