HYDERABAD, July 20: The two-week long annual Laser National regatta championship commences at Hussain Sagar Lake, here, tomorrow.While the team event for the DGEME Trophy concludes at the end of the first week, the laser class will begin on July 27.

Three-time winner and defending champion Mahesh Ramachandran tops the list of contenders for the individual crown. But, he is expected to face stiff challenge from former champion Nitin Mongia and promising sailor Arjun Pradeepak.

The sailors who will be seen in action during the first week include Jagdish Singh, Sanjeev Khanna, Kulbir Singh Saini, MS Dhillon, Purushotham Sharma, Yeshwant Rao Singh and current National radial champion Rajesh Choudary.

The teams vying for honours for the DGEME Trophy are the MGEME, Headquarter, MCEME, Secunderabad, EME School, Baroda, No.1 EME Centre, Secunderabad, Base Army Workshop and MAG Technical Group.
