Chandrababu one up on his counterparts

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE

HYDERABAD, July 20: Administration problems in Andhra Pradesh due to long distances, will soon be a thing of the past as the state government gears up to go hi-tech in the days to come.

With the Union Government sanctioning fibre-optic lines to the state, the chief minister and senior officials in Hyderabad will be able to have discussions with collectors and officers down the line in the districts on implementation of various schemes through video-conferences.

Addressing a conference of collectors here on Saturday, Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu said the system is expected to become operational within a month. The system, which will be connected to all districts, will facilitate online transmission of data and voice.
