CHENNAI, July 21: The Madras High Court had dismissed a habeas corpus plea that V Vijayakumar, alias Kalki Bhagavan, the leader of a cult, be produced in court. The petitioner had alleged that Vijayakumar was being kept in illegal confinement by Sankara Bhagawat Padha, administrator of the Kalki Ashram in Nemam village, but, the court, observed, sufficient material had been produced to prove the contrary. The Division Bench saw no matter relating to public interest in the action.
