TIRUCHI, July 21: The TN government is likely to set up a separate division under the Public Works Department to look into desilting works of the various irrigation canals and tanks in the State, according to Durai Murugan, PWD Minister. The government has also embarked on an ambitious project to modernise the Cauvery irrigation system at a cost of Rs 460 crore with assistance from the World Bank, he added outlining the projects undertaken by the DMK government.
