Indians will be the winners

This may seem less like a prediction than an irresponsible idea to present to our politicians, ever ready as they are to pounce on harebrained schemes. But some bright spark is bound to raise it soon enough and it may as well be said, triumphantly to make the point that it will not work.

Manipulative politics

No one has grabbed the opportunity to make political gains out of the tragic deaths of Dalits in police firing in Mumbai as eagerly as the Chief Minister of Gujarat. Shankersinh Vaghela stops at nothing in his attempt to curry favour with Dalits.

Another great oil rush

Monument has tied up with US oil giant Mobil, Malaysia's Petronas is around as is a Dutch Company, and Unocal, another US company and Delta from Saudi Arabia are aiming to build an oil and gas pipeline, worth about $2 billion each, through Afghanistan to Pakistan, with a possible extension to India.
