EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
CHENNAI, July 23: The AIADMK(J) led by J Jayalalitha, V Gopalsamy's Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (MDMK), the Janata Party and three other political parties in Tamil Nadu have decided to launch a ``movement'' to oppose the omissions and commissions of the United Front Government at the Centre and the DMK Government in the state. According to a joint statement released today and signed by the leaders of the six political parties, a joint action plan has been prepared involving demonstrations in front of the State collectorates on August 11 to highlight the burning issues and the long-standing problems of the people of the state. The ``failures'' of the Centre and the state government on issues like the Cauvery water problem, reservation issue, caste clashes in the southern districts, rise in prices of essential commodities, ``breakdown'' of the public distribution system and problems facing Indian fishermen from the Sri Lankan Navy are the issues that would be highlighted during the agitation.
