ITC to sell back Jaiprakash share

ITC is believed to have engaged Arthur Andersen to negotiate a buy-back deal with Delhi-based industrialist Jai Prakash Gaur in respect of around 85 lakh shares of Jaiprakash Industries held by ITC Classic.

JK Corp posts Rs 17 cr loss

JK Corp Ltd has announced a Rs 17.87-crore loss despite a 8.5% rise in turnover to Rs 775.90 crore for the year ended March, 1997. The company had a net profit of Rs 51.57 crore in the previous year.

Videsh Sanchar Nigam Ltd (VSNL) has announced a net profit of Rs 504.74 crore for the year to March 31, 1997, an increase of 23.24% on the previous year's Rs 409.56 crore.
