Bizbits -- Colour-Chem to pay 108%

ENS ECONOMIC BUREAU

MUMBAI, July 24: The directors of Colour-Chem have declared a special interim dividend of 108 per cent for 1997-98. This will be conditional upon receipt of a compensation of Rs 15.37 crore in the year, out of a total compensation of Rs 18.37 crore from DyStar India for the assignment of the textile dyes business to the latter. As the company does not presently require the funds for any major expansion of its chemicals business, the directors have considered it in the best interest of the shareholders to distirbute a part of the compensation.

HDFC profit up

MUMBAI: Housing Development Finance Corporation Ltd's unaudited financial results for the three months ended June 1997 shows net profit at Rs 54.90 crore, up from previous year's Rs 42.72 crore. The company said that loan sanctions for the period aggregated Rs 519.154 crore, up by 25% from the Rs 413.76 crore during thesame period last year. Loan disbursements during this three month period amounted to Rs 338.32 crore. This is a 23% increase.

Coca-Cola

MUMBAI: COCA-Cola India has introduced Coca-Cola and Fanta in Bangalore, making available the soft drink to over 50 lakh consumers in India's Garden City and growing soft drink market.
