CHENNAI, July 24: The Tamil Nadu Veterinary and Animal Sciences University has developed a poultry vaccine for the hydropericarium hepatitis syndrome, a disease that affects 3-5 week old broiler chicks and has a 30-80% mortality rate. The losses to poultry farmers in TN due to HSS was Rs 80 lakh annually.
