Hyderabad, July 26: The waters are murky. The winds are a bit heavy. But the National Inland Laser Sailing Championship, which commences at the Hussain Sagar Lake here tomorrow promises to produce some top class stuff as the meet is to be regarded as selection trial for the forthcoming Asian Games. Defending champion R Mahesh of Naval Sailing Club (Mumbai) would like to extend his reign on the crown in the Laser Standard Class for the fourth year in a row. But it would be first time for him, if he wins, in the newly introduced Inland Nationals. Former champions Gautam Dutta of EME Sailng Association (Secunderbad) and Nitin Mongia (NSC) are expected to pose problems to the three-time winner. In the Laser Radials category, reigning champion R Choudhary (EMESA) faces the challenge mainly from the local outfit, Secunderabad Sailing Club, which has as many as eight competitors in a field of 15.
