BANGALORE, July 25: The Karnataka government plans to take up desilting of about 60% of the total 36,661 tanks in the State in the next three years. Doddamarali tank of Chikkallapura taluk is the first such area where the government has iniated the measure, according to Byre Gowda, agriculture minsiter. Priorty will be given to areas where farmers are willing to work in close quarters with the government.
