Opinion of 3 ex-Chief Justices used by Cong in FCRA case
Three former Chief Justices, AM Ahmadi, YV Chandrachud and PN Bhagwati, as well as former Attorney General G Ramaswamy, have given a unanimous opinion that the donations received by the Congress do not fall under the ambit of the Foreign Contributions Regulation Act (FCRA) of 1976 since the donors aren't foreign companies.

The Industrial Credit and Investment Corporation of India (ICICI) has recorded a 123% jump in net profit for the first quarter of 1997-98. Net profit stood at Rs 223 crore, up from Rs 100 crore registered in April-June 1996.

Navratnas' largesse costs Rs 1.7 cr to oil pool account
The three navratnas, Indian Oil Company (IOC), Bharat Petroleum Company (BPCL) and Hindustan Petroleum Company (HPCL), were responsible for a loss of Rs 1.70 crore to the oil pool account, according to the 1996-97 report of the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India.

Hong Kong major may pick stake in RPG supermarket
Hong Kong based conglomerate Jardine Matheson is likely to take a 50% stake in the RP Goenka (RPG) group's supermarket chain venture soon. The venture operates as a division of the RPG group's Spencer & Company Limited at the moment.
