Mansher to lead Indian challenge
EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE
NEW DELHI, July 30: Mansher Singh will spearhead the Indian challenge in the Asian Clay Shooting Championships to be held from August 10-16 in Brunei. Other than the ace marksman, India will field Zorawar Singh, Anwar Sultan, Gautham Sondhi, Aniruddh Singh and Manavjit Singh in the fray. Harinder Singh Bedi and Rao Inderjeet Singh have qualified to represent the country in the skeet category notching up scores of 117 and 114 respectively in the qualifying exercise, here. The meet assumes particular significance for Mansher Singh as he will be participating in both the trap and double trap for the first time. ``I am planning to enter in both trap and double trap in the Asian Games. So, this will be the ideal chance to see if my entry in both will affect my trap shooting,'' he explained. Otherwise, he did admit that the meet did not hold much significance as the performance here did not count as far as qualifying for the Olympics was concerned.
