Gawli aid nabbed

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE

July 29: Sushant Lalit Indap alias Raju, an aide of underworld don Arun Gawli was arrested by the Crime Branch yesterday for illegally possessing a revolver.

Officers of the crime intelligence unit received a tip-off that a gangster was likely to deliver a weapon to his fellow gang member at Elphinstone Bridge, Parel opposite the railway ticket counter.

A trap was laid and at 3.30 pm a person matching the description was found moving around in a suspicious manner. The officers then confronted and nabbed him. An Indian factory made .32 bore revolver was recovered. Indap, a member of Gawli gang, failed to produce legal documents supporting the possession of the revolver and was then booked under sections 3 and 25 of the Arms Act.
