CHENNAI, July 28: A 1600-year-old memorial stone bearing Tamil inscription in Vatteluttu characters has been unearthed from a remote village near Erode by the Tamil Nadu State Archaeological department. The stone was erected in memory of Karimitha Chathan and has been placed at the Basuvesvaraswami temple. Archaologists date the time of the erection of the stone back to the 4th or the 5th century AD.
