Three arrested in Rajasthan paper leak case

Pradeep Kaushal

JAIPUR, July 31: The Rajasthan Police claim to have cracked open the State Public Service Commission examination scandal today with the arrest of three men, allegedly behind the paper leak. The main beneficiaries of the leak apparently were the sons of an IAS officer and a judicial officer, and some State officials. Each of them reportedly paid Rs 1-2 lakh for the papers.

Those arrested include two employees of the PSC -- Prakash Palecha and Tara Chand, both upper-division clerks -- and a worker, Roop Chand, of the printing press at which the papers were published. The press, located in Ajmer, was sealed after a raid today. The scandal had snowballed following the boycott of the Rajasthan Administrative Service examination by candidates, after news of the paper leak broke out.
