COIMBATORE, July 30: The powerloom weavers of the Coimbatore district have approached the State goverment seeking permission to form co-operative socities, in the wake of the cloth manufacturers' inability to supply material to the powerloom workers. The powerloom industry which provides ample job opportunitites is now buckling under pressures of fluctuating yarn prices, steep power tariff and cost of production, the weavers alleged.
