AUGUST 4: Justice V P Tipnis and Arvind Palkar of the Bombay High Court today directed the state police to submit case diaries of August 18, pertaining to the murder of trade unionist Dr Datta Samant.

The court also asked for an affidavit of Police Commissioner Subash Malhotra, which ruled out the involvement of any industrialist in the crime.The bench heard the petition filed by Dr Samant's brother, Dada Samant, urging for a CBI investigation into the brutal murder on January 16.
