CHENNAI, August 4: An Alliance Air flight bound for Port Blair made an emergency landing at the Chennai airport on August 2, after a tyre-burst of the port-side wheels during take-off. All passengers were safe. The pilot decided to make the emergency landing after the flight had been airborne for nearly an hour-and-a-half. Even while the authorities were attending to the Alliance Air plane, an Airbus flight to Delhi returned to the parking bay after the pilot noticed a fuel leak from one of the engines just as the plane was taxiing for take-off.
