BELGAUM, August 3: The rising waters of the river Krishna are threatening to cut off several areas in Karnataka's Belgaum district. The river, already engorged by the heavy rains, has been receiving additional inflow due to the release of water from the Koyna Dam in Maharashtra and the swelling of the Varana, Koneri and Dhom rivers.
