Shobhatai's order set aside

AUGUST 6: The Bombay High Court today set aside the October 1996 order of former food and civil supplies minister Shobhatai Phadnavis releasing tankers allegedly containing adulterated petrol.

The court has asked the Thane collector to issue fresh orders in this regard. Meanwhile, the returned property will remain with the owners.The Crime Branch, CID, had seized 26 loaded tankers, six empty tankers and 64 drums last year.

However, Thane Collector U Uke ordered release of some of the property. The CID asked Phadnavis to intervene, but she ordered complete release of property.
