Probe into steep fees

AUGUST 6: An enquiry has been ordered in to the allegation of exorbitant fees charged by Anandilal Podar Junior College.

Greater Mumbai deputy education director J M Abhyankar told Express Newsline that he ordered an enquiry following a memorandum submitted by the Mumbai Junior College Teachers Union (MJCTU) on Tuesday. M R Andhalkar, the union secretary, said, ``The junior college students have to work in school laboratories. "They have no library and no staff room for their teachers. The place given by the government on rent for aided vernacular medium schools is being misused .''
