BANGALORE, Aug 6: Thousands of students admitted to medical colleges in Karnataka since 1992 over and above the prescribed number of seats (set by the Medical Council of India) may be derecognised by the MCI following the amendment to the Indian Medical Council (IMC) Act.Assistant Secretary of the MCI A S Rahi told mediapersons here on Wednesday that over 1,000 students had been admitted by the 14 medical colleges in the State every year since 1992, in excess of the prescribed number of seats prescribed by the MCI.
