August 7: Senior sports journalist from Maharashtra Times V V Karmarkar and photographer of Indian Express Mohan Bane have been jointly selected for this year's Sushiladevi Deshmukh Memorial Ekmat Award for their outstanding contribution in the field of journalism.The award carries Rs 11,000 cash and a momento will be given on the occasion of the sixth anniversary of the Latur based daily Ekmat on August 20 at the hands of senior journalist Rajat Sharma.
