Prakash invites BAI to merge with IBC

BANGALORE, AUG 7: Prakash Padukone, today invited the Badminton Association of India (BAI) to merge with the Indian Badminton Confederation (IBC), and form a new governing body for the sport in the country.

Padukone, president of the breakaway IBC, in a letter to his counterpart in bai, VK Verma, while offering the merger, reiterated that the IBC would conduct its inaugural general body meeting on August 31, in Bangalore where a new set of office-bearers would be elected to replace the present ad hoc committee.Further, Padukone said, in a press release here, that IBC would go ahead with its proposed calendar of events which was announced recently.The fresh move on part of Padukone comes in the wake of his meeting in Chennai on Monday with Punch Gunalan, vice-president, International Badminton Federation. The two discussed ways and means to solve the present impasse.
