Public demand probe into youth's mysterious death

BANGALORE, August 6: Residents of the City's Sanjaynagar area laid seige to the office of the Bangalore Rural District Superintendent of Police on Tuesday, demanding a probe into the mysterious death of a 19-year-old youth while he was on a mountain trek in Sawan Durga in the district. The boy, Kush, one of a pair of twins, had reportedly gone on the trek with a group of 10 friends and the instructor on July 13, and disappeared. A search was made, but in vain, and, two days later, the boy's parents lodged a complaint. On August 1, a local shepherd found the skeletal remains of the youth near a stream at the foot of the hills. The relatives of the deceased alleged that five the persons who had accompanied him on the trek were responsible for his death. The DIG (Central), T Jayaprakash, has asked Magadi police to take up a case of murder.
