CHENNAI, August 6: Employees of the Chennai Railway Divisional Office today brought all three lifts in the office building to a halt, forcing officials to use the stairs, to draw attention to their demand that the sewerage pipelines in the building be repaired. The employees withdrew their protest after the Chief Electricial Engineer assured them that the pipes would be repaired within one week.
