CALCUTTA, AUG 8: All eight resolutions on the agenda of the adjourned annual general meeting of Shaw Wallace & Co will be decided by a poll to be held on August 10 at the company's headquarters at Wallace House here.

The decision to hold a poll was taken almost at the fag end of the meeting. Managing director R K Jain had announced that the first resolution - relating to the adoption of the accounts - would be passed through a show of hands.

Those `for' and those `against' had already put up their hands and a survey was enough to reveal that the motion would be defeated on this basis. It was then that a employee-shareholder of the company - not belonging to the All India Shaw Wallace Employees' Federation - demanded a poll.
