MADURAI, August 7: The Joint Action Committee of Dalit Associations in Tamil Nadu plans to burn the national tri-colour at Chennai on August 15, to symbolise its protest against the celebration of the golden jubilee of Indian independence when, as it claimed, no steps had been taken to prevent opression of the Dalits. The Committee also plans to organise `peaceful agitations' across the State on independence day.
