UDHAGAMANDALAM, August 7: A dog, suspected to be rabid, has killed nine spotted deer and a sambhar in the deer park here. The deer were found dead, with evidence of dog bites on the carcasses. Forest staff managed to kill the canine and have buried it. The dog is thought to have entered the park through a gap in the chain-link fence. Safety measures have been strengthened. The park adjoins the famous Ooty lake.
