JOHANNESBURG, Aug 11: Hansie Cronje has been confirmed as South African captain for the next five series, totalling 16 Tests. The United Cricket Board of South Africa (UCBSA) said today that Cronje would be captain, with opener Gary Kirsten as his deputy, until the end of next year's five-Test tour of England.

Before then Cronje will lead his team on tours of Pakistan and Australia and home series against Pakistan and Sri Lanka.
