Dailydespatches -- Five killed in road mishap


AURANGABAD: Five members of a family, including a bridegroom, were killed and 12 others injured when their jeep collided with a truck near Pimpal Gate, in Ambejogai taluka of Beed district on Sunday. The victims were on way to Hyderabad for the engagement of the bridegroom, Rajesh Verma, police said here on Monday. The injured were admitted to the Vivekanand hospital at Latur.

Veteran freedom fighter, Tated dead

BETUL: Veteran freedom fighter, Chandmal Tated passed away here on Sunday after a prolonged illness. He was 80. Tated had taken an active part during the Freedom struggle as a Congress worker and was under house arrest from August 10, 1942 to September 9, 1943. Tated is survived by four sons and a daughter. He was cremated at Mokshdham on Sunday in the presence of family members and a large number of people from various walks of life.
