Jagan Bengle shocks top seed Vilas Dalvi

MUMBAI, August 11: In a major upset of the event, unseeded Jagan Bengle thrashed top seed Vilas dalvi out of the Pratapchandra Gupta Memorial District Ranking Carrom Tournament, today. Bengle, a former State champion, faced a tough challenge in Dalvi in the first set but the former eventually won it 25-4. The second set however was a cake-walk for Bengle with a smooth 25-9 victory to enter the semis. National Champion Parimi Nirmala faced some hiccups before finally overcoming former National Champion Nalini Bolingkar 25-9, 11-25, 25-16, to enter the semis in the womens singles.
