Centre may waive part commitment fee for select power producers
The Union petroleum ministry has agreed to give a 25% rebate in commitment charges payable by independent power producers (IPPs) to national oil companies. However, this rebate will be applicable only for IPPs, who use fuel oil for their power plants and have plants situated at ports.
HPCL to aid Mangalore Refinery update via debt subscription
Hindustan Petroleum Corporation (HPCL) will invest Rs 363 crore in fully convertible debentures (FCDs) of Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals (MRPL) to finance the cost of its expansion. Shareholders' approval to make this investment will be sought at the corporation's August 29 annual general meeting.
Goodyear plans Rs 350-crore expansion through venture
Goodyear is planning a Rs 350-crore expansion of its production capacity through South Asia Tyres Ltd (SATL), its 50:50 joint venture with the RPG group company, Ceat. The production unit of the joint venture has been set up at Aurangabad in Maharashtra with an installed capacity of one million tyres per annum.
