Tension in Ambejogai, buses burnt AURANGABAD: Tension prevailed at Ambejogai town in Beed district today as some miscreants indulged in arson and burnt six buses. Police fired teargas shells to quell the mob, according to reports reaching here. The trouble erupted after a meeting called by the ``Ambejogai zilla sangarsh samiti'' demanded a separate district for Ambejogai. Ashok Chakra for Jammu armyman NEW DELHI: President K R Narayanan has conferred the nation's highest peace-time gallantry award Ashok Chakra, posthumously on Second-Lieutenant Puneet Dutta, who died fighting the militants in Jammu and Kashmir last month, an army spokesman said here this morning. The President also conferred Shaurya Chakra awards to four civilians who foiled a bank robbery. They are Yaswant Doddamani, K Dattatreya Shetty, Jagan Parsi and Pashupathi Nath Rai, the spokesman said. Punjab minister hurt in mishap PATIALA: Punjab's Minister of State for Urban Development Surjit Singh Kohli, his wife and two sons were among 11 persons injured, and his driver and a family friend killed, when a PRTC bus on Friday rammed into the minister's car at the city outskirts, police said here.
