Prime accused in Beant murder case nabbed

JAMMU, Aug 15: A Top militant and prime accused in the Beant Singh assassination case was arrested during raid at his hideout in the Jammu yesterday, police said today.

According to the police, the top militant, Paramjeet Singh alias Harjeet Singh alias Pammi, of the Bhindranwale Tiger Force, who is carrying a reward of Rs 3 lakh for his arrest, had sneaked into Jammu and was active.

Pammi was wanted by the Punjab police for masterminding the former chief minister's assassination . He had been evading arrest for the last two years.

He was a car mechanic and resident of Tanda areaand was responsible for tranforming a simple car into a bullet proof vehicle, which was used for the killing of Beant Singh, at Civil Secretariat in Chandigarh.
