Feroz scores thrice as Saki Village Boys trounce All-parsees

Aug 17: A fine hat-trick by Feroz Patel and a goal by Denzil Crasto fetched Saki Village an important two points against All Parsees in Harwood League organised by Mumbai District Football Association at St Xavier, Parel.

Saki Village, who lost their previous match to ONGC, were in the control of game from the start and scored early in the fourth minute.

Saki midfielder displayed good ball control as Denzil Crasto combined with John Lobo in one-two passing bout and the latter got the ball the crash a left-foot shot to open the scoring.

Denzil, the speedy left-winger, was a constant threat to the All Parsees. On one of occasion, he dribbled past two defenders and put laid the ball for Lobo, whose drive was collected by Farhad, the All Parsees goalkeeper.Saki Village, who made such a good start to the match, had to wait another 40 minutes before they could add to their tally.

Feroz Patel, whose splendid finishing skills fetched him a hat-trick, scored the first of his three goal in the 44th minute. Reggie D'Souza, the right half, pushed a pass towards Feroz in the box. Feroz coolly placed the ball to the right goalkeeper Farhad Irani.

If Farhad was beaten by Feroz, he came up trumps in the next move made by Saki Village. Allan Fernandes's 35-yard shot was punched over him.

Saki Village, who were attacking in waves, could have gone up 3-0 but John Lobo missed a sitter when Reggie D'Souza's lob beat the defence but it even eluded the onrushing Lobo.

Seven minutes after the second goal, Saki Village went 3-0 up with Denzil providing the pass from the left for Feroz to come sprinting down the middle and place the ball to the right of the diving Farhad.

Feroz completed his hat-trick in the 71st minute. Denzil once again provided him with the bullet to fire. Denzil moved to the right with the ball and passed to Feroz when the Parsee defence was expecting the former to take a shot. Feroz did not make any mistake with his third goal.

Saki Village have two wins and two loses from four matches. Parsees has a poor run so far as they have lost their three matches and drawn two in the five they have played.
