SEBI reverses stand on rating agencies

[Details] Going back on it's earlier stand, the Securities Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has proposed, in a note to the board of directors, that credit rating agencies should be kept outside the purview of regulation.

SEBs owe Coal India Rs 4,000 cr

[Details] State electricity boards and various power companies owe Coal India Ltd a whopping Rs 4,000 crore against coal supplied by CIL's seven subsidiaries. Almost half of this amount - Rs 1,781.16 crore - that is owed by 22 SEBs and power companies is in the disputed category.
