IBM, Tata form new venture

MUMBAI, Aug 25: IBM and Tata Industries Limited have set up a new joint venture company in India for offering IBM's entire range of information technology services including networking services, outsourcing, education, systems integration, consulting, software development and hardware design. The joint venture, IBM Global Services India Pvt. Ltd, is owned 80 per cent by IBM while Tata Industries and Tata IBM share the balance stake equally among themselves. This is the second joint venture of IBM with the Tatas in India. It already has a 50:50 joint venture with Tatas - Tata IBM. According to a company press release, Tata IBM will continue to be the primary interface with customers in India. It will also look after the marketing and sales of all IBM products and services, including those of IBM Global Services India.
