MUMBAI, November 4: Vijay Kumar surged to the top spot from his previous third in the Mahindra Golf Rankings when the latest list was issued today.The Lucknow-based golfer, who won the Punjab Open in Kapurthala recently, led Delhi's Ali Sher and Calcutta Firoz Ali in the list issued in accordance with the Professional Golfers' Association of India (PGAI).

However, Ali Sher continued to lead the earnings list as he touched Rs 1,93,080 after the first four tournaments of the 22-event Indian Tour. Vijay Kumar was second with total earnings of Rs 1,54,050 so far.

Another Lucknow golfer, Bhoop Singh, had the biggest leap in the rankings when his good show at the recent tournaments landed him in the seventh place from the previous 19th.
