CBI to probe Tytler's role in Delhi riots
The 1984 anti-Sikh riot case-hearing today took a dramatic turn, when the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) told the Delhi High Court (HC) that it would register two first information reports (FIRs) and probe into the alleged role of former Union Minister Jagdish Tytler in the killings. The Bench directed the CBI to take into consideration the written complaint given to the then Station House Officer (SHO) of Sabzi Mandi police station Jai Bhagwan during the investigations.

Cutting across political lines, all political parties in Punjab yesterday extended their full support and cooperation to the State chief minister Parkash Singh Badal in tackling the issue raised by the Centre's revival of the controversial Eradi Tribunal. "We will continue to strive collectively with firm determination to protect the rights of Punjab on the water issue and will not tolerate any kind of discrimination with the State," said a resolution adopted unanimously at a two-hour long meeting chaired by Badal.
