Suu Kyi meeting stopped
ASSOCIATED PRESS
RANGOON, NOV 5: Myanmarese riot police threw up barbed wire barricades around a Rangoon office of Opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi's political party this morning to prevent the Nobel laureate from meeting her party's youth wing. A member of Suu Kyi's National League for Democracy party said riot police had taken more than 20 youth members away in buses, but released them shortly afterwards. Myanmar's military government did not immediately comment on today's events. Suu Kyi was not seen this morning at her party's office in Tamwe, where she was expected to arrive in an attempt to meet the party's youth members.
