IMA meet to focus on public health

MUMBAI, November 5: The 37th state conference of the Maharashtra branch of the Indian Medical Association (IMA) which is slated to commence on Saturday will lay stress on public health with papers being presented on topics ranging from the supreme court judgment on cross practice to social security scheme. The conference, to be held at Mithibai college, Juhu, will be preceded by a public health exhibition organised by the western suburban branch of the IMA. Various stalls at the exhibition will try to spread educative messages on various illnesses like diabetics, cancer, AIDS and heart attack. Rehabilitation of the physically handicapped and the methods to deal with terminally ill patients will also be dealt with in the exhibition. Eminent doctors like Dr Lekha Pathak, Dr K K Mehta and others will also preside over a public question and answer session on Sunday evening.
