Bid to kidnap two teenage girls foiled

EXPRESS NEWS SERVICE

NAGPUR, Nov 6: The Sonegaon police have arrested an autorickshaw driver and his two accomplices who attempted to kidnap two teenage sisters on Tuesday night. The girls escaped by jumping out of the autorickshaw at Ujwal Nagar.

The sisters, 17 and 18 years of age, boarded an auto at Mor Bhavan bus terminus to go home. The autorickshaw driver, Sanjay Mahule, and his two friends were sitting on the front seat. Instead of turning towards their destination, the autorickshaw driver sped towards the airport.

In spite of being told by the sisters that he had taken the wrong road, the driver did not change his course. Sensing danger, the two sisters jumped out of the autorickshaw near Ujwal Nagar. They reported their plight to the local people who took them to Sonegaon Police Station .y
