JFK secretly wed socialite: Hersh
Former US President John F Kennedy secretly married a Palm Beach socialite in 1947 and had scores of affairs in his last days in the White House, according to a new book on his Presidency by investigative reporter Seymour Hersh. The book, The dark side of Camelot, which is scheduled to be released also alleges that the late President, whose assassination became a national nightmare, had close ties with organised crime.

Pak schools will no longer resound with Indian tunes
Girls' schools in Pakistan's Punjab province cannot hold cultural functions or play Indian film songs at fetes organised by them within school premises, according to a recent order of the provincial government. The order of the Punjab Muslim League government has come in the wake of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's latest zeal to cleanse the idiot box, apparently to reverse the liberalisation that was allowed during the rule of Benazir Bhutto and thereby please fundamentalists.
| Prithvi's "epic" feast
The Prithvi theatre festival, which began on Thursday, has placed particular emphasis on Indian legends and folklore. The great epic Mahabharata alone has six plays in the festival devoted to it. The first play staged was Teejan Bai's Draupadi Cheer Haran and Dushshasana Vadh, which was repeated the next day. On both days, the theatre ran to packed houses.
