Top-seeds sail into semis

NASIK, Nov 11: The turn of events today at the Bristol Senior Inter-District Maharashtra State Open Badminton Championships here followed the formbook. The top seeds in the men's and women's singles section justified their billing by making to the last four stage. Second seed Vikrant Patwardhan of Greater Mumbai and fourth seed Parag Modi (MSDBA) were stretched to three games. RESULTS (all QF): Men's singles: Rajeev Bagga (Gr Mum) bt Sushant Nidodi (MSDBA) 15-6 15-4; Mayur Tawde (MSDBA) bt Nimesh Goyal (Thane) 15-6 15-11; Vikrant Patwardhan (Gr Mumbai) bt Sanket Shetty (MSDBA) 15-8 10-15 15-4; Parag Modi (MSDBA) bt Arindan Roy Choudhari (Thane) 11-15 15-10 15-5.
