Rajiv wanted DMK to broker pact with Prabhakaran
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M Karunanidhi stated that the late Prime Minister, Rajiv Gandhi, in 1989 wanted him (Karunanidhi) to send DMK emissaries to Jaffna to convince LTTE supremo Velupillai Prabhakaran to go in for a compromise and settle for autonomy under the Indo-Sri Lanka accord.

Dissidents raise cudgels against Kesri
Punjab Congress dissidents have raised a banner of revolt against the leadership Congress president Sitaram Kesri by demanding that Sonia Gandhi should take over the reins of the party. They have roped in known Kesri critic and senior Congressman Rajesh Pilot, who will be participating in their coming rally at Dera Baba Nanak on November 23.
