Two bodies recovered, one killed in Tripura

AGARTALA, November 21: The jawans of Assam Rifles deployed in the disturbed areas recovered two bodies in Chichingchara areas of South Tripura district and in another incident miscreants killed a farmer in Pitra in Udaipur yesterday. Police said, on search, the jawans recovered the two bodies, identified as Nipendra Das and Sudharshan Das from Chichingchara areas under Manu police station. Both of them were abducted by the militants on November 12 last from the area. In another incident, police said some miscreants stabbed to death one Sribas Majumder while he was working in his paddy field in Pitra under R K Pur police station. Police arrested one person in this connection from adjoining area.Meanwhile, fresh influx of Reang tribals has created tension in north Tripura even as uncertainty looms over the return of about 9,000 others already sheltering in the State, official sources said. Tripura Government has taken up the matter of large scale influx of Reang refugees with the Union Home Ministry and Mizoram Government, State Home Minister Samar Choudhury told press persons today. He said security has been beefed up in Kanchanpur subdivision in north Tripura following the influx, which ``is really causing problems for Tripura''.
