Site in Sight -- Black Power

Over 40 per cent of the electricity generated in the world is from coal. Despite all talk of alternative fuels, coal remains the mainstay of world energy requirements.

The major coal producers of the world have come together under the banner of the World Coal Institute to spread the black word.

At its site on www.wci-coal.com, WCI offers a comprehensive look at the history and the future of coal. With simple graphics, the site talks about the various issues like environment, deposits and efficiency of coal.

WCI has members like Broken Hill Company, BP Coal, Coal India and Mitsubishi and brings out a newsletter on new development in this sector.
